SUBWAY

The Subway provides a fast and reliable way of getting around Glasgow's city centre. During peak times there's a Subway train every four minutes calling at each of the 15 stations on the double circular route north and south of the river. Park and Ride facilities are offered at three of the stations and there are direct links to the national rail network at Partick and Buchanan Street stations.

If you are visiting the hinterland festival the Discovery ticket will be of particular interest offering unlimited travel for one day for just £3.50 after 9.30am. Please note last trains from the city centre are at 23.30.

Go to www.spt.co.uk/subway for more information on the Subway.

BY AIR

Glasgow Airport

Paisley's Gilmour Street railway station is the nearest to the airport. Just one mile from the terminal, it can be reached by taxi or by regular bus services from bus stop bay 1 – located just outside the terminal building.

The express bus is probably better for most - you can find full details at  www.glasgowflyer.com

There are direct rail services from Paisley Gilmour Street to Glasgow Central, Ayr and Clyde Coast destinations.

Paisley Gilmour Street to Glasgow Central

Eight trains per hour (Monday-Saturday) and five per hour (Sunday).

Rail tickets from Glasgow Airport to Glasgow Central station, via Paisley Gilmour Street station, can be purchased from the SPT Travel Centre on the ground floor of the terminal building, adjacent to domestic arrivals.

When travelling to the airport from any station in Scotland, you simply ask for a rail ticket to Glasgow Airport and this is then valid on the train to Paisley Gilmour Street and the Arriva bus service from Paisley to the airport.
