The Recoat Gallery is based in Glasgow. They exhibit graphic art, illustration, street art and photography. This pioneering art space is owned and run by two young artists that go by the alias’s of REKOR and SYRKUS. They work as a collaborative team, Rekor’s chunky shapes framing Syrkus’s spidery characters. Their murals can be seen around Scotland, from their Keirin mural at Pageant, to their Rockabilly themed piece at the Courtyard bar in Glasgow city centre to their tattoo-inspired piece at the Lansdowne bar in the West End. For Hinterland they are creating one-off, large-scale pieces of spray-painted artwork inspired by the character and style of each of the venues that will be displayed during the festival.
