What is Hinterland?

Hinterland is a multi venue arts and music festival which will take place in around 20 music art venues in central Glasgow.  

 

When is Hinterland?

Thursday and Friday 30th April- 1st May 2009.  Venues will open at around 6.00pm with live music from 7-11pm and club nights and DJ’s until the early hours on both days.  There will also be daytime activity from the art contingent and surprises along the way.

 

Is there an age restriction?

Unfortunately Hinterland is an 18+ event at this stage.

 

Where and when can I buy tickets?

Tickets are on sale now on the website.  Tickets will be available in person from march 2009 at fopp stores in Glasgow.

 

Will there be lower priced early bird tickets?

Although we will be keeping our ticket prices as low as possible we will be issuing a limited number of discounted early bird tickets as soon as tickets go on sale.  To make sure you take advantage of this sign up to our mailing list and we’ll let you know as soon as they are available

 

What will my ticket include?

Your ticket will include access to all the gigs and art events which are part of the official Hinterland programme.  You will also be entitled to a special Hinterland download compilation from 7Digital for which you will receive a code at the event.

 

Can I get a refund on my tickets if I can no longer make it?

Sorry, all tickets are non-refundable unless the event gets cancelled.

Where can I stay?

We’ll be putting up some hotel details for you shortly including some special Hinterland rates.  Joint the mailing list and we’ll keep you posted of any good deals.

 

How will I get in to all the different venues?

When you buy a ticket you will receive a paper or e-ticket depending on your method of purchase (in person or online).  When you arrive at the event there will be a central point where you will exchange your ticket for a wristband.  We will let you know where this is when you get your ticket.  Your wristband will allow you access to all participating venues.  You will be denied access to any venues without your wristband.

 

Is there a map of venues?

When will I know the line-up?

We will be releasing details of who is performing at the event between now and the event itself.  However, we will not release details of who is playing at which venue until you pick up your programme on the day at the same time as you pick up your wristband.

 

What if I get there and the band I want to see are playing at a venue which is already full?

Unfortunately this can be the nature of multi venue events, as with any festival there are always tents that fill up for better known artists.   However, you can rest assured that there’ll be something else brilliant happening a few minutes walk away.  Come armed with an attitude for discovery and you won’t be disappointed.

 

Can I buy a ticket for a single venue?

No

 

Will there be a central cloakroom?
Some of the venues do have cloakrooms which will be available while you are at that particular place but we suggest keeping you belongings and valuables with you at all times.

 

Are there any cash machines?

You will be in central Glasgow, there are lots of cash machines

 

I’m in a band, how do I get to play at Hinterland?

Our committee will be submitting bands for consideration but we are happy to accept material from those of you who think you’ve got what it takes.  Send your CDs to:  5 Albert Mews, Albert Road, London N4 3RD or email us a link to your Myspace page and we’ll make sure the Festival Directors get it.
