Scottish artist/illustrator Jenny Soep kicks off Hinterland’s Art
Jenny Soep will be our featured documentary drawer. Jenny specialises in drawing
original alternative musicians during their performance and has drawn from the likes
of Bjork, Sigur Ros, Bonnie Prince Billy, Jeffrey Lewis, Arab Strap, Mogwai, Union
of Knives, De Rosa, and a whole load of others.
We will be launching the art side of Hinterland with Jenny's special Solo Show 'Sketching
the Scene'

Hinterland welcome Radio Magnetic as Media Partner
Radio Magnetic is one of the longest running underground online radio stations in
the UK and has recently joined forces with Hinterland to bring you some up front
coverage of the festival. Radio Magnetic has been broadcasting fresh contemporary
electronic, indie, hip hop and roots music for the past eight years with presented
shows, DJ mixes, live sessions, competitions and current contributors including Fabric
London, Mad Decent, Jim Gellatly, Electronic Explorations, Little Rock Records, and
a host of other taste makers from around the UK.
Keep locked on the Radio Magnetic site for previews of Hinterland featuring interviews

The Fall confirm Hinterland Festival appearance
Legendary post-punk band The Fall are confirmed to appear at Glasgow's Hinterland
Festival. The band, who have achieved a phenomenal cult status since their formation
in 1977, join over 100 other acts including Metronomy, Sons and Daughters, Prego,
Michachu, Count and Sinden and Simian Mobile Disco for the first ever Hinterland
Festival.

We have announced the names of another 27 acts taking the overall band tally for
the festival up to 57. Among the new bands announced are:
Glasgow’s acclaimed Sons and Daughters, Michachu who can currently be seen touring
the UK with Late of the Pier, The Invisible, BBC 6Music favourites Metronomy, Drums
of Death and hot production duo Count and Sinden who were behind one of last year’s
biggest club hits Beeper.
Previously announced Hinterland act Tommy Reilly, has also won the Orange Unsigned
Musician competition that aired on Channel 4 since being confirmed for Hinterland.

voted a UNESCO City Of Music, the city has a music scene that the USA’s Time Magazine
recently compared to that of Detroit in its Motown heyday. Just this month Glasgow
was highlighted by Rough Guide as a key city to visit in 2009.
Glasgow it seems, is THE PLACE TO BE and we’re really excited because we’re there!

based in good old London town. They have been around since 2005 and have had the
fortune of doing some really great shows with bands like Hell is for Heroes, The
Twilight Sad and Enablers to name but a few. ABoF have DJ-ed their own successful
